The main commercial zone of the historic and attractive city centre of Subotica is spread along the Korzo/Borisa Kidrica street and The Republic Square, as well as along the nearby streets which are next to the walking zone. Based on the historical construction substance are stores mostly with small number of stages, all this with exception of Delta Shopping Mall which is still functional and with exception of the closed store on Korzo which is in the same range as very occupied Engels catering house.
The retail trade, servicing and catering objects network in the city centre is not quite developed, and the international subsidiaries do not take a major part. Besides that, there are also stores such as DM, Bata, Lush, and the stores with Chicco products, as well as McDonald’s.
Gallery is the center with a number of small stores in atrium, i.e in the mall in the U – shape, with the contemporary approach on
the market (but as far as the retail trade is concerned, it has unprofessional plan). It is situated on the north end of Engels street and it includes 15 smaller stores, if viewed from the point of already mention DM store, out of which two stores are in sales of clothes and three are sales of underwear. On the ground floor of the three-floor Delta Shopping Mall(it corresponds to the project phase 1), that has an old looks and is functional, there is a Maxi supermarket besides.
On the ground floor and on the first floor , there are also 10 smaller stores with different offer of goods. During the construction works and in the shopping mall there are 10 empty stores, mostly on the first floor. On the second floor, there was furniture exposed at the time. Generally speaking, it is noticeable that retail trade objects are invested, but all in all, everything looks like a Hungarian city 15 years ago.
